Dolcetto d'Alba Le Ghiaie D.O.C.
   Roughly translated, Dolcetto means "little sweet      one."
While not exactly "sweet," the wines made from Dolcetto are definitely light and fruity.
The Dolcetto grape makes soft, pleasantly fruity wines that are for early consumption.  It is used in the Piedmont region of northern Italy but it's use is diminishing.
Dolcetto d'Alba le Ghiaie: is bottled at the end of April and is pleasant and harmonious. It should be drunk while still young or at least within the first two to three years. It is ready to be consumed after the summer but it reaches its best in the following spring or later on.

Grapes: Dolcetto
Colour: intense ruby red, with violet reflections.
Smell: vinous, fruity, reminescent of cherry-flowers and bitter almomds.
Taste: intense, dry , persistent, full bodied, harmonios, with a tipically bitter and pleasent back- taste
Alcohol content: Minimum 11,5% volume
Ageing: to be drink when young, better within one wear-anyway, it can be aged in the most favorable vintages.
How to serve it: 14-16 C° especially whwn young
Better with: it can be served during all the meal, in particulary with poultry, rabbit, stewed vegetables, soft cheeses.
